TESTIMONIALS ABOUT OUR MINISTRY

Dear Drama Ministry Leader,

If you're wondering if our ministry tools are as good as advertised, check out what a few people are saying about them. Several of our users added audio to their testimony.  They are posted here for your enjoyment.

In the past, I have posted a little of the contact information of the person giving the testimony - just to validate that they are genuine.  However, spam is so bad these days that I don't want to punish a person for helping us out.  So, if you want verification, you'll have to open a ticket at our main site and request it.  We'll be glad to help.

THE DRAMA MINISTRY BUILDER

BETTER WITH TIME

Hello Playhouse Members.  I am one of the few people who can truly say that I have every version of drama tools.  I remember when Stan sent out the first one years ago. I could tell that he was still trying to figure it out but I stuck with him because I could see the anointing that God put on his writing.  The plays have always been good but when I got my drama tools deluxe, it blew me away from the moment that I opened it.  He just thought of everything.  My goodness.  The videos and the notebook and the CDs were much more than I expected.  Between the last one and this one is like night and day.  If you haven't tried Mr. Hood's plays yet, you robbing your church of a tremendous blessing.

A MEMBER FOR LIFE

It has been about 7 years that I've been with Playhouse Ministries. During these 7 years I have put on 3 of Stan's plays. The Miracle Family, In Which Seat Do You Sit, and The Perfect Blood. I am now working on "If the Preacher Ain't Right, to be presented on October 25, 2008, in Honor of Pastor's Appreciation Month. It has been a blessing to put on these plays...to GOD BE THE GLORY!!!! My original testimony to this website is posted. In my testimony I wrote that my church did not not have a Drama Ministry and that was 2 or 3 years ago. Now I am back to let the public know that that James 5:16 says "The Effectual Fervert Prayer of a Righteous Man Availeth Much"...man did I pray and as of April 19, 2008, we now have a Drama Ministry at my church (Old Way Baptist Church (OWBC) in Washington, DC. We put those plays on without a shadow or a doubt that God would make the way. HE opened the door and I went through it to see the blessings and the benefits that lay before me. Stan you are a God send. It was your plays that GOD used to give me my break through. Let me say this, when I originally took the request to my church for a drama ministry they turned it down. I had put on two of the plays then. I put on The Perfect Blood in March and as I stated in April I was blessed to be the coordinator/Director of the 1st Drama Ministry at OWBC. I am a life time member of Stan Hood's Playhouse Ministry. I encourage all of you to take part in this wonderful Ministry, your church and all people will be blessed. Thank you GOD for sending Stan and all of you at Stan Hood's Playhouse Ministries.

HOW TO BUILD YOUR DRAMA MINISTRY

I think it has great information and I'm especially glad there was an example of how to pray for my drama ministry because I really needed that!

WHEN YOU SEE ME - BLACK HISTORY SKIT FOR TEENS

My church performed When You See Me at our Black History Program this past Sunday, and it was wonderful. The youth really enjoyed performing the parts and being in character!

THE DEVIL CAME TO CHURCH ONE DAY

I have been really impressed with a majority of your works. We have done two of your plays thus far this year.  The first was "What in Hell do you want "? It was performed in August for youth Sunday.  It was received quite well.  The second play the devil came to church this past weekend was rate as astounding.  I don't believe it had anything to do with us. It was how your thoughts and ideas were portrayed and we acted them out extremely well.  The dress rehearsal Friday night was horrible.  I stopped the rehearsal at scene five or six for additional prayer.  It seemed the devil has taken over, lines were forgotten, entrances were off.  Everything seemed to be going wrong.  When Saturday rolled around everything was perfect and all fell into place.  Keep your work coming.  You're doing a great job.

A PASSION FOR DRAMA

Hello Stan,

My name is Tramaine Snodgrass and I just finished reading your "passion for drama". Thank you so much for allowing God to use you to speak to me. Your words describe what I am facing with myself and God's calling for me and my church family. I have a vision for God to begin and develop a drama ministry alongside my wife, and I also have accepted my call to preach and help revive and speak to the heart of God's people. I am excited to be used, yet still overwhelmed at the how of it all. Thank you so much again for your words and your resources, may God continue to bless and keep you.

WHEN YOU SEE ME - BLACK HISTORY SKIT FOR TEENS

This was just a wonderful play and I am using it for our black history program at Macedinia Baptist church in Midland TX. God bless you for your talents.

IN WHICH SEAT DO YOU SIT - BY JAMES ANDERSON

The play "In Which Seat Do You Sit" was dynamic! From the moment of our first rehearsal to the Sunday we performed the play, we knew this play would change our lives forever. It did! Our women department is preparing to perform "Sisters of The Gospel for Women's Day. We are looking forward to that day. We already have more people wanting a part in the play than we have characters. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing your talent and ministry. May God continue to bless you. Sincerely, Dorothy Bright

VARIOUS PLAYS/SKITS

Praise God for Stan Hood. I am Marcia Blash Ministry leader for Purpose Driven Drama at Community Church of God in Macon Ga. We have performed Walk with me Feb.2006, In which seat do you sit? Feb.2007,and last weekend Aug. 3rd 2007 we blew the church away with When you see me. We did it as a dinner theater everyone is still talking about what a success it was.!!!!

WHEN YOU SEE ME - BLACK HISTORY SKIT FOR TEENS

Praise the lord, as i began to read "When You See Me." I think about my seventeen year old daughter who is a dark skin full figured young lady. I struggle more with my daughter's weight than my child does. As i read the script i saw myself as a young child growing up being called kitchen, because I stayed in the kitchen; all i liked to do was eat. Growing up I danced that's how i lost the weight, but what about my daughter's generation. Obesity is something serious for our young people, in church and out of church. I make my child feel loved, she has two strikes against her, well society views things a bit different than I would. 1. She's African American/Dark Skin. 2. She's over weight. As I go on further to read I and many other's who have read When You See Me: I and many other's can relate to the Fireman; It amazes me when people of other cultures, even your very own people see a young African American male with his pants hanging off of his butt, he's accused of being a thug, drug addict, thief, so fourth and so on. African American people, and Hispanic people are always stereo typed. My Grandmother would also say read in between the lines before you judge the book. May God bless you Pastor Hood, and Merry Christmas, and a Bless and Happy New Years. Continue to stay bless.

PLAYHOUSE MINISTRIES PLAYS IN GENERAL

I just wanted to let you guys know how much I enjoy your plays and your ministry.  Thanks a lot.  They are really great. Pam

BLESSED AND HIGHLY FAVORED - CHRISTMAS PLAY

Hello my brothers and sisters in the mighty name of God. My name is Sophia Scott and I am from the Bryn Mawr Ave. New Testament Church of God and I work with the youth ministry and I must tell you that we love Playhouse products. We did the play called Bless and Highly Favored for our Christmas play and to this day we are still getting praise for it, however, i can't take all the praise because it was God that anointed Stan Hood with the gift of drama expression so he can in turn share his gifts with us. That's what the Holy Bible teaches. I just want to say a Big Thank You to you Stan and Playhouse ministry for a job well done. We were so excited about the great feedback of the play that I had to get my subscription, so I can have full access to this wonderful talent and share in this marvelous gift and bless everyone that i come in contact with through drama. Thank You again and we are most grateful to you. God Bless You Sophia and the Youth of Bryn Mawr Avenue

CUSTOM SCRIPT WRITING FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS

I was going crazy trying to find a play/skit for Black History Month for the teens in our church with not enough time to play with. I am very scared to use my credit card over the internet, I called the 800 # before I did so. I ordered a play which is ok but it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I called Stan and he asked me what I was looking for? I told him and within 4-5 days I had the skit ready for the teen to work on. God has truly blessed you with a great talent, I pray that everyone that go onto this web site or speak to you will leave with the same feeling I got, its hard to find Christian play/skit and after browsing thru this site, I just cannot get out of it, its awesome. Thank you so much for putting my mind at ease. God is a good God and he's worthy to be praised. Keep up the good work and I pray God's richest blessing upon your ministry. I not only go on the web site I am now ready to order our supply for our church. God Bless, Ann Guthrie-Shaw Toronto, Ontario Canada

PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF DRAMA TOOLS

I received Drama Tools a couple of years ago and found it very helpful with the youth drama ministry at my church. The kids love to perform skits and it has been a wonderful way to keep them involved in the church.

IF THE PREACHER AINT RIGHT

The plot of the play is excellent and Pastor Hood's intent/message in writing the play is even more important. Most people, including church leaders and members, do not remotely realize how dificult it is to grow a church membership and resources and yet stay focused on the true reason for its existence. Much of our desire to grow these days has far less to do with our desire to grow spiritually and praise God than it does with our desire to 'show off' and gain power. The Play demonstrates the pitfalls of unbridled and unfocused growth. In spite of the great message the play sends I feel "IT'S ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL THAT SOMEONE SUMS UP THE MESSAGE OF THE SHOW". This is much more important than introducing the cast. If all people did was to come to the show and get a laugh then its purpose would have been ill served--it would be just like going to church dressed in your finest duds and listening to a preacher who fails to deliver a message that you can use to grow spiritually. We can turn on television or go to a movie for a 'show'. This play is designed to be more than that. This play should be one weapon in our spiritual arsenal to help people grow closer to God, live better lives and form a closer bond with the purpose of a church. That's why it's important to summarize the play at the end and remind folks about what they should have gotten out of it. Finally, it's very important that the director of play ensure that the characters are mindful about power of their message and as result in many cases wait until the laughter subsides before speaking--we lost a couple of powerful messages in our play because key lines were spoken while the crowd was still laughing.

PLAYHOUSE MINISTRIES DRAMA WORKSHOP

It was a pleasure and a rewarding experience having you in Fayetteville, NC during the New Life Bible Church Drama Ministry Workshop on May 18-20, 2006. I came out of the workshop with many tools that will help me, help our Worship Arts Ministry succeed in sharing God's words through drama and various other arts tools. Every aspects of what you all taught can and will be used. I truly enjoyed it all, but especially the vocal coaching and the technical stage training and the importance of auditions and rehearsals. In a time of media monopoly on our society I feel it is important to reach non-Christians and Christians in a manner that will allow them to have an open mind, and yet be filled with God's messages of following His word. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for coming to our humble city and church to share your talents and gifts!!!!!

PLAYHOUSE MINISTRIES DRAMA WORKSHOP

Pastor Hood, I just wanted to say a few words reference our experience on the play “If the Preacher aint right”. This was our second large-scale production of one of your plays, which we have done at our church. We are a small church in size but large in heart and actions. We don’t have any professional actors or professional directors. However, we do have a group of mature Christians that are educated in God’s word that want to do their best in this ministry. We received the script from one of our members Mrs. Pat Davis, who was very excited about it and thought it would be great to do as a culmination for the three-day Worship Arts Ministry Workshop. After giving the script to our Pastor and reading it over myself, I had a few questions about Sis. Flairs role. However, after some prayerful answers and reading it over again I fully understood the role of Sis. Flair. Once that was done, we began to announce during the 8:30 & 11:00am services that we needed people to volunteer to be in an upcoming play. We were not at the level to say we needed to have “Auditions”  Well a few days passed and we had about 16 people that came out to the first meeting. That was just enough to fill the parts with no spares. I passed out the scripts and told the volunteers to read them over and come back next week with what part they would like to play. God definitely led people in the right direction because there was only one part that ended up with two people wanting it. The problem was that due to scheduling conflicts we had three people that could not do the play on the proposed dates. Therefore, we had three parts that were open, Sis. Flair being one of them, a part I knew would be hard to fill. However, God continued to work. We eventually got all the people we needed. Practices began and the real hard work began. Trying to de-conflict the schedules of over 20 adults who all have different jobs was a seemingly impossible task. So I went to the only person I know that can do such a thing, GOD! We only had about nine weeks to get this play down pat and present it. There were times throughout the nine weeks that it seemed that things just were not going as they should. There were times during those nine weeks that it seemed that it was not going to be as good as the last play we had done. There were times during those nine weeks that I thought “Wow, we should just stop and do something easier.” There were times during those nine weeks that it just seemed the props would not work. However, throughout those nine weeks prayer and God’s Word, “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God.” Romans 8:28 and Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding, kept things on track. We continued to push through Satans confusion and lies with the promise that “Blessed is a man who preservers under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12. We knew this was a MINISTRY and we knew what our goals were, to build the kingdom of God. Before we knew it, the last week was upon us, “Tech Week”. God had provided all the props, God had filled all the parts with the right people, God had provided the space, God had given us the knowledge to remember our lines and the comfort to expand on them, God had told us it doesn’t matter if it’s as good or bad as the last play this is for Me not you! Needless to say, the play went off without a hitch. Lastly, I will say that at this level we don’t deal with professional critics so you may ask how do we judge our success? This is how, with Philippians 4:6-7 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. We know this is a ministry for God so our only critic is in heaven. To Pastor Hood excellent play and thanks for the opportunity to share with others, what God has shared with you! William T. Wallace New Life Bible Church Fayetteville, NC

PLAYHOUSE MINISTRIES WEBSITE

When I came across the website for Stan Hood's Playhouse Ministries,I was just sufing the Net to see what I could find on drama ministries. I believe it was 2001, and out all of the thousands of sites this was the only site the really caught my interest. Not only was the site available to paid members it was also available for non-paying members. At the time I was not a paying member, but I was able to download some of the skits/plays etc. Drama Ministries have always peaked my interest. At the present my Church does not have a drama ministry and with Stan's help and efforts in the drama ministry I believe my Church will move forward in this direction. The plays that I have downloaded (all of the them) are exceptional. These are the types of plays that can help save souls. After 3 years as a non-paying member and there were a lot of benefits as a non-paying member but I kept in mind that the service Stan and his staff provides requires a lot of time, effort, patience, and costs to them. With that in mind I decided to purchase Drama Tools 3.1. Although I haven't put on any of the plays I constantly read the scripts because there are written so well and they have a message, a spiritual message. GOD has put Stan and his staff out here for a reason and I pray that anyone that comes across the Stan Hood Playhouse Ministries website would invest in such a blessed Ministry. Not only do I not know Stan Hood personally, all I have done was email him when I was ready to purchase my Drama Tools, not only did he respond to every one of my emails, he even called me personally and made sure that I was satisfied with making my purchase and advised me how to purchase through PayPal (fast and easy). I myself, really appreciate such a blessed Ministry and I thank GOD through Stan for helping us out her to spread the message of Jesus Christ. Thank you again Stan and your staff for such an amazing Ministry. To GOD be the Glory!!!!
